UCI Legal Department advise about the Elections of the CPA President

13/09/18

Dear riders,

you will find attached a letter from the UCI responding to our request for consultation regarding the interpretation given by our lawyers Rocco Taminelli and Federico Scaglia on the voting methods defined in the statutes of the CPA.
This letter fully confirms the indications previously given by our lawyers that the voting is open to associations that are legally members of the CPA according to the conditions defined in the statutes, as well as to professional riders who are not represented by a national association. The latter have to be members of either a WT or a Pro Continental team that are registered with the UCI and they have to be present at the general assembly.
This letter also underlines that proxy or electronic votes are not allowed by the statutes. On the other hand there is no use in the past of neither of them that would allow to use them today.

Once again we would like to underline that it is not the will of the CPA to not allow the electronic vote but it is precisely forbidden by the rules. The request of the riders for an electronic vote will be considered for the future, with appropriate times and methods.

WE REMIND ALL RIDERS THAT IN ORDER TO VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE CPA IN INNSBRUCK THEY HAVE TO BE  PRESENT WITH A VALID ID AND THEIR RACING LICENSE.

We remain at your disposal for any query you may have.

Thank you, best regards
Laura Mora
