THE ‘HIRE THE PRO’ PROJECT CONTINUES
from 01/07/25
In an effort to support riders until the end of their cycling careers, the CPA has launched a successful initiative.
It is called ‘Hire the Pro’, a name that sounds like a friendly invitation to companies to hire professional riders looking for a new job.
The idea is to bring together various types of companies with cyclists who are ending their careers, encouraging personal meetings between the parties, mutual understanding and relationship building, in the belief that direct dialogue is worth more than a thousand CVs sent from afar.
The first meeting between retired or soon-to-be-retired professional cyclists and companies in the cycling industry took place at the Cycle Café at the Eurobike trade fair in Frankfurt on 25 June. On this occasion, the athletes met entrepreneurs, managers and executives from various business sectors in an attempt to lay the foundations for possible working collaborations.
In an informal atmosphere, young men and women of various nationalities and with different backgrounds talked to business people about their projects and skills and broke the ice with a new world of work.
The companies present collected information on the valuable human potential of professional riders, where, in addition to each athlete's personal training, other important values typical of the profession prevail, such as determination, spirit of sacrifice, teamwork, multilingualism and inner strength.
For companies it is often difficult to attract the right employees and they spend a lot of resources on this process. With “HIRE THE PRO” they can access to a big group of dedicated and ambitious people who are already familiar with many of their products and aware of the needs of their customers. In short, this initiative gives companies from the bike industry the opportunity to hire the right people at no additional cost.
For now, eleven professionals have made contact with some companies, but the project will not end there. Thanks to the collaboration with the recruitment agency ‘biciTALENT’, the CPA will continue to work on bringing the parties together and facilitating exchanges, including riders and companies that were unable to attend the Eurobike event on 25 June.
New events will be created and as many contacts as possible will be made via a communication channel dedicated to professional riders and job offers.
The ambitious project also includes the creation of internships in many cycling companies for former professionals, who will be able to try their hand at the company departments (product, sales, marketing) most suited to their profile.
Interested companies and riders are kindly requested to contact info@cpacycling.com
