Further key activities of the CPA

The services provided by CPA range from legal assistance to the management of the career and transition fund of the riders

Legal assistance for riders

Like a union, the CPA provides assistance to all cyclists needing to enforce their rights in the event of violation of UCI regulations and employment contracts, or when the Accord Paritaire fails to be applied.

CPA's legal service is often used in the following cases:

  • Enforcing the provisions set forth in the Accord Paritaire such as for example payment of minimum wage or reimbursement of insurance in case of accidents;
  • Obtaining refund of travel expenses incurred by pro riders during races and training;
  • Obtaining the payment of the race prizes withdrawn by teams, organisers or proxies;
  • Opposing dismissals without just cause or cases of mobbing;
  • Combating unauthorised use of the riders' personal data;
  • Taking action, if and when required, in the event of controversies pitting riders against teams.

If you think your employer has deprived you of an important right, or if you want to report abuse or unfair behaviour towards riders, please do not hesitate to contact us. Each individual case will be treated as confidential and the anonymity of those involved will be maintained.

Career and transition fund

Another key activity of CPA is managing the Transition and training fund (formerly known as Solidarity Fund). For further information, please follow this link.

CPA goes global

The CPA has committed to going global, and it is therefore looking for new affiliates to represent riders of any nationality. The CPA highly encourages the creation of new national associations, to which it gives due attention. The CPA acts as the spokesperson for the riders' needs worldwide. If you'd like to help the CPA in its effort to go global, by creating a riders' association in your country which will be able to join the CPA, please contact us.

Communication

The CPA puts a lot of effort into communication and debate with its affiliates, and especially with the riders, by regularly sending e-mails and sharing posts on social media. If you're not following us on social media, subscribe from the contacts section of our website.
The communication activity of the CPA also includes press releases concerning topics of great interest. For more information, check the PRESS section.
